Lisette Hernandez saw the large need that exists for underprivileged individuals to have access to therapy, and knew that she could be part of the solution by joining POST (the Pediatric Oncology Support Team) as an Intern Therapist, providing emotional support for families and children with cancer. She loves now being a Therapist for the team. “Only non-profit can give people what they need for little to no cost,” she says.

Lisette’s parents gave her the freedom to choose her path in life as long as she got an education. With that freedom, she decided that she would get a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University, and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She has strong desire to continue working with family and children.

Originally from New York, Lisette has spent most of her life in South Florida. When it comes to down time, Lisette finds solace in long, reflective hour-drives home, and loves spending time with family, hitting the gym and taking care of her dog. She loves coffee because it changes her day.

Her spirit character is Tina from Bob’s Burgers, “because Tina tells it as it is.”
